DO YOU KNOW THE ROUTE OF THE ORIGINAL LIVERPOOL MARATHON?
A number of people have contacted me about the route of the original Liverpool Marathon. I understand that it used to start on St. George's Plateau (how times have changed!!) and finished at Liverpool F.C. I believe it was last won by Ron Hill as an aspiring distance runner back in 1961 when it was last staged on that particular route. Other than that I have no information about the event. If you can shed any light on this annual event I would be pleased to hear from you. Please note, I'm not after information about the Liverpool Marathon from the eighties, just the original race.
