Women's 10K/5K & 1 Mile Fun Run May 9th 2010

It’s ladies day in Sefton Park
as 1,000s run the 25th Women’s 10K race.

Thousands of ladies took to the roads around Sefton Park in the annual 10K race yesterday (May 9th). On a sunny day the atmosphere was relaxed as a sea of female athletes set off along a six mile scenic course around Liverpool’s most attractive parkland.

The event is Liverpool’s longest established road race and it now includes 5K and 1 mile fun runs. The turnout included a mix of serious athletes, club runners, fun runners and charity fund raisers.

The winner of the 10K race was Liverpool Harrier Jenny Clague in an impressive time of 36 minutes and 19 seconds.

First home in the 5K was Liverpool Pembroke Lisa Gawthorne in a time of 20 minutes 31 seconds.
